The Morsi Foundation for Democracy condemns the arrest of the head of the Tunisian Ennahda Movement and the legitimate president of the Tunisian Parliament, Rashid Ghannouchi, by a security agency with coup orders and taking him to a military barracks in the capital, Tunis.
The Foundation calls for the immediate release of Ghannouchi and all political detainees as a result of Kais Saied’s coup against the constitution and institutions, and for an end to the ongoing repressive practices against democracy in Tunisia.
