She was born on August 18, 1962, in Cairo, Egypt, in the Ain Shams district. She obtained high school degree and studied translation in Los Angeles, USA, at the Home of the Muslim Student. She worked in the service of Islam and interpreted for the American women who had recently declared their Islam, as a volunteer at the Islamic Center in California, in the United States.

She is the only wife of the president and the mother of all his children. She married him in 1980 in the United States of America. She is related to the president on his mother’s side.

She refused to be called the first lady of Egypt and completely kept away from the spotlight and public work before, after and during the rule of President Morsi.

 She has five children (Ahmed, Shaima, Osama, Omar and Abdullah).
