Dozens of colonial Israeli settlers invaded Thursday, 23 March 2023, the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, performing provocative rituals under the Israeli occupation forces’ protection.
Local media sources reported that Israeli settlers broke into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa and performed provocative Talmudic rituals in some of its yards.
In a related incident, hundreds of colonial Israeli settlers conducted provocative Talmudic rituals in Al-Buraq Square, west of Al-Aqsa Mosque coinciding with the first day of the month of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces are widely spread across the compound of the Al-Aqsa Mosque to protect the colonial settlers, banning the presence of Palestinians.
The Union of Temple Mount Groups called the Jewish settlers to invade Al-Aqsa Mosque during the first day of Muslims’ holy month of Ramadan citing the so-called Jewish Purim holiday as a pretext.
Illegal settlers intend to perform provocative Talmudic rituals, read biblical passages aloud and collectively, and conduct evocative dances in Al-Aqsa Mosque yards.
In response, Palestinian activists and officials called on the Palestinain people to intensify their presence at Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan to confront settlers’ widespread incursions.
