The Higher Emergency Committee of the Captive Movement in Palestine said – on Saturday – that the prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons will announce in the coming hours their collective will, in preparation for a hunger strike on the first day of the blessed Ramadan.
The committee – which represents all prisoners of the occupation prisons – stated in a statement leaked from inside the prisons, “Unless the occupation authorities retract all their retaliatory measures, which were taken by the Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, the comprehensive hunger strike will begin on the first of the blessed month of Ramadan.” “.
Among the retaliatory measures mentioned in the committee’s statement; Preventing hot water from prisoners, allowing each prisoner to take a shower for 4 minutes, which will lead to the spread of diseases among prisoners, acknowledging the first reading of the death penalty law, and withdrawing many achievements, including treatment and education, which prisoners obtained after going through difficult strikes for decades according to Committee statement.
The Higher Emergency Committee said that the hunger strike will carry the slogan “Volcano of Freedom or Martyrdom”, and prisoners from all Palestinian factions will participate in it.
The committee’s statement also called on the Palestinian people to organize support stands for prisoners next Tuesday evening in all city centers
