(CNN) – The Egyptian opposition journalist, Moataz Matar, commented, on Saturday, on the life sentence issued against him in the “Talaea Hasm II” case.
Matar said in a tweet on his official Twitter page: “A life sentence was sentenced a few minutes ago.. By God, I no longer know the number of years I was sentenced to.. but it exceeded 70 anyway.. and all the real accusation is ‘the word of truth’ or so I claim.. God is victorious.
Al-Ahram Gate had mentioned in a report: “The Second Chamber of Terrorism of the Supreme State Security Court, held in the Badr complex, sentenced to life imprisonment against 5 defendants in the “Talaea Hasm II” case, including Muhammad Ali, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Amlak” investment group for contracting and supplies, and the TV presenters, Moataz. Matar, Sami Kamal El-Din, and others, on charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news..”
Al-Ahram added: “The court also decided to place them on the terrorist lists and 5 years on police probation after serving the sentence.
