The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” condemned the Israeli strikes on Lebanon, according to a statement it published on Friday, saying that it condemns the aggression “against Lebanon and the targeting of the area around the city of Tire at dawn today, and affirms its solidarity with the Lebanese people.”
In a separate statement, the movement said it condemned the strikes on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon and called on the League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to “intervene urgently to stop the crimes and violations of the Israeli occupation.”
The occupation army had announced, on Thursday evening, that it had bombed Hamas targets in southern Lebanon and Gaza, while the Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Galan, said that it had ordered preparations for “all possible responses” after rockets were fired from Lebanon and Gaza at Israel, which It came amid rising tensions in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
For its part, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, or what is known as “UNIFIL”, said that it is in contact with the Israeli and Lebanese sides and that they do not want war.
