Today marks the fourth anniversary of the martyrdom of the assassinated Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, may God have mercy on him, who was killed and dismembered by a death squad on the orders of the highest authority in the Saudi government in his country’s consulate in Istanbul, a crime that shook the whole world with its ugliness.
However, justice for Jamal Khashoggi has yet to be served. Many countries of the world concerned with this issue have stood helpless in the face of immunities, political balances, and economic interests, in a clear denial of the values that the free world pays lip service to, in one of the most prominent forms of impunity, which confirms the international failure to advocate for the issues of freedoms and justice that the martyr Khashoggi presented. May God have mercy on his soul.
The Morsi Foundation for Democracy is still fighting to achieve justice for Khashoggi, as it is also still demanding justice for President Mohamed Morsi, the first elected civilian president in Egypt, who was systematically murdered in his prison, and the assassination of his youngest son, Abdullah Morsi in a mysterious crime. So far, the international silence remains and giving priority to the language of power and political interests takes precedence at the expense of achieving justice, which contributed to the widening of injustice in the Arab world, especially Egypt.
May God have mercy on the martyr Jamal Khashoggi and accept him among the righteous, and we will continue to demand justice for him and for all freedom martyrs until justice is achieved and no right is lost behind demands.
