The US State Department expressed to Al-Jazeera its concern about the inclusion of journalists on the terrorism list by an Egyptian court, including journalists from Al-Jazeera Media Network.
A spokesman for the US State Department told Al-Jazeera that Washington is concerned about the use of Egyptian courts to file charges related to the exercise of freedom of expression, calling on the Egyptian government to immediately release those detained on charges related to freedoms.
The Egyptian authorities had included the names of dozens of journalists, including 4 journalists from the Al-Jazeera network, and they are Abd al-Rahman Hussein, Anas Zaki, Amr al-Qazzaz and Sameh Mustafa on the terrorism list, according to a decision by an Egyptian court.
